We perform metabolic tests for triathletes and endurance athletes.
Metabolic testing helps determine your pacing strategy and your nutrition needs for endurance racing such long distance triathlons, cycling or ultra running.
During the test, we measure heart rate, power (on a bike), and the amount of O2 and CO2 expired. From this, we can determine your VO2Max, aerobic and anaerobic thresholds, and training zones.
Using custom software, we can also determine the amount of fat and carbohydrates burned at each effort.
The generated report contains a lot of information that are interesting in themselves, or to track over time. For example, are you training effectively to becoming a better fat burner?
It can also help you decide on a pacing strategy by answering questions like:
Finally, if you have a race setup in Best Bike Split, we can include it in the report, calculating how many calories you will need to complete it!

We can also perform a Resting Metabolic Rate, which tells you how many calories you are burning at rest. It can be useful to plan your daily nutrition for weight loss for example. Or just out of curiosity.
Currently, only a cycling test is available. You will need your bike, preferably equiped with a power meter if you would like to have your power threshold and zones in the report.
